Ipswich, UK brutal death metal newcomers BRAINSTEM unveil Diminishing Capacity, their debut EP released through Grave Island Records. Across five tracks, the band combine pathological brutality, hardcore aggression and a vicious modern edge, drawing influence from Cryptopsy, Dying Fetus, Pustulated, early Cannibal Corpse and Sanguisugabogg.
Exploring the deterioration of the human mind, Diminishing Capacity moves from psychological disorder and internal struggle towards pathological violence and complete mental collapse. Recorded independently in the drummer’s bedroom and mixed by Ilyas Rasulov, the EP delivers a crushing, precise and genuinely massive sound.
